ELLAVILLE —  The Middle Flint Regional E-911 Authority recently received results from the Sumter County Fire Department’s recent Public Protection Classification (PPC) survey to determine the Center’s and County’s ISO rating.
The Regional E911 Center is the Public Safety Answering Point and Dispatch Center for Sumter County. The E-911 Center is responsible for 10 percent of the overall ISO rating for the County.
The Center scored a 9.44 out of a possible 10 points. his score is up from the previous score of 8.25.  This improvement means the E-911 operates as an ISO Class 1 E-911 Center. This rating is used by most insurance companies in decision making on what business or personal property to write coverages and policies for or they may use the ISO rating to set prices to charge. A lower overall ISO Class, with a Class 1 being the lowest, may mean a lower premium for insurance.
Middle Flint Regional E-911 Authority is pleased with the results of the survey and will continue to strive to improve the rating.
