Community remembers officers

A moment of silence was observed on the campus of Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday to remember the one-year anniversary of the fatal shootings of Americus Police Officer Nick Smarr and GSW Police Officer Jody Smith.
Special commemorative wreaths were ceremonially laid on the gravesite of Nick Smarr Wednesday.
