Students in Schley County Elementary School’s technology lab participated in Computer Science Week by learning about future careers in technology and taking part in the ‘Hour of Code.’ Some of the latest statistics state that programming jobs are growing 12 percent faster than the market average. Many young people will find careers within computer science. Students participated by creating code in Code Studio through lessons involving ‘debugging,’ dragging/dropping, looping, and creating their own algorithms, using such fun course words as Angry Birds, Minecraft, Star Wars, and others. Shown is Kinley Taylor, who created script for a ‘K.’
