The Sumter County Board of Education recognized Earleen Tracy, who is retiring, at the December board meeting. Tracy began working in 1989, as the school nutrition bookkeeper. She moved to system bookkeeper, then to Business Services accounting manager. For the last four years, she served as the director of Finance. ‘It’s true, if you do what you love, it’s not really work. I feel like I have made a contribution to the Sumter County School system and to our community. I am looking forward to a new chapter in my life.’ Superintendent Torrance Choates presented her with a rocking chair for her 30 years of service to the Sumter County School system.
