Three Americus-Sumter High School students competed at the SkillsUSA “Skills Challenge Welding Competition” in Moultrie. Thomas Saint, Hunter Aldridge, and Willie Peoples-Tyson competed against 74 other students from across South Georgia. Saint, Aldridge, and Peoples-Tyson each earned a $500 scholarship to Tulsa Welding School in Jacksonville. Individually, Aldridge placed sixth overall and also won a new Lincoln Electric AC225 Stick Welding Machine. From left are Thomas Saint, Hunter Aldridge, Willie Peoples-Tyson.
