WALESKA — Dr. Alex Riccardi was named one of Reinhardt University’s 10 Under 10 for 2017 at the Homecoming Brunch held in October.
“The 10 Under 10 is an awards program we began to honor our alumni doing wonderful things in their 10 years since graduation,” said Tim Norton, vice president for advancement and marketing. “This year’s class is comprised of go-getters, philanthropists, and business and community leaders.”
Riccardi graduated summa cum laude from Reinhardt in 2010, with a bachelor of science in biology. While at Reinhardt, she played softball and was a part of the 2010 AAC regular season championship team. During her senior year, she was awarded the Thelma Rogers Silver Eagle Award. After graduation, she stayed on at Reinhardt as the pitching coach while she prepared for the Dental Admissions Test and completed dental school. During her time as pitching coach (2010-2011), the team was 2011 AAC regular season and conference tournament champions, advancing to the NAIA World Series.
In 2015, Riccardi earned her doctor of dental medicine. She returned to Americus to working alongside her father at his dental practice. They have been practicing dentistry together for two years.
The 10 Under 10 is a group of Reinhardt University Alumni who are active in many communities throughout the world. Each year, Reinhardt recognizes distinguished alumni who exemplify the mission of our institution. The 10 under 10 award is given to a group of alumni who graduated within the last 10 years and are successful in business, the military, nonprofits, government, ministry and/or the arts. Their pictures hang in the Student Center as a reminder of how Reinhardt alumni make a difference.
