PLAINS — Florence Helen McLean Dill, 101, of Americus died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Plains Retirement Center. She was born Jan. 7, 1917. in Walker County, Ala., to the late Henry Newton McLean Sr. and Rose Nelle Robinson McLean. She was a devoted mother of 10 children and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Americus. Father Gillespie will officiate the service. The family received friends from 55-7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus. Burial services are scheduled for noon, Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at Andersonville National Cemetery.

Survivors include five daughters: Mary Hernandez of Americus, Kitty Turner Miller of Americus, Carol Short of Alachua, Fla., Angie Moye of Dahlonega, and Joey Thompson of Americus; three sons: Henry Lee Dill of Okeechobee, Fla., Hank McLean of Americus, and Jerry Dill of Americus; one sister, Sister Mary Adrian McLean of Cullman, Ala.; and 72 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dill was preceded in death by her husband, Madison Eugene Dill; two sons: Gene Dill and Jim Dill; four brothers; and two sisters.
