AMERICUS — Robert Paul Francis, 88, of Americus, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. A native of Elwood, Ind., he was born Nov. 14, 1929, to the late Richard A. Francis and Elisabeth Clancey Francis. He enjoyed traveling to see his family in Indiana, camping, fishing, playing cards and listening to old music. He loved animals, especially his dog, Bentley.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Keith Parks will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m., an hour prior to the service, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel.

Survivors include his wife Kaye Francis of Americus; a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Patsy Francis of Americus; a daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Richard Loper of Americus; two stepdaughters and their husbands: Dana and Jerre Norris of Americus, and Stacie and Ralph Martin of Jefferson. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Robbie Francis, Chris Francis, Felicia Loper Palmer, Brandon Loper, Taylor Norris, Chase Norris, and Thomas Martin; and one great-granddaughter: Lillianna Francis.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 46 years, Virginia Francis; and five brothers.
