AMERICUS – According to Sumter County School Superintendent Torrance Choates, the application process to replace Americus-Sumter High School Head Football Coach Erik Soliday will be open until February 16. Soliday will be retiring March 1.

Choates said that a committee, consisting of himself, ASH Athletic Director Coleman Price, ASH Principal Kimothy Hadley, Associate Superintendent Walter Knighton, and two members of the community, will review the applications and narrow their search down to around five to seven candidates to be interviewed.

After that process is completed, the committee will choose the top three candidates. Those three candidates will be interviewed again, and the final selection for the new head coach is expected to be made March 23.
