MARSHALLVILLE, Ga. — Maureen Giles Murray, age 98, died on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at the Oaks Nursing Home in Marshallville, Georgia.

Visitation will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, Georgia. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Sidney Clay officiating.

Mrs. Murray was born in Ideal, Georgia, and later moved to Americus, where she became a dental hygienist and worked for the late Dr. R.B. Strickland.  She later moved to Albany and worked for the late Dr. O.C. Greene for over 18 years. Mrs. Murray was a member of the Ideal Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Bill Murray; her parents, Ferman Giles and Martha Daniels Giles; two brothers, F.D. Giles and Jake Giles; and four sisters, Willa Mae Crittenden, Lady Wagnon, Ruth Jenkins and Jency Carter.

She is survived by a daughter, Faye Bass of Leesburg, Georgia, and a son, Charles Woolbright (Robbie Ann)  of Cordele, Georgia; four grandchildren, Gayle Webb of St. Augustine, Florida, Pam Bass of Leesburg, Georgia, Dawn Hardison of Ellaville, Georgia, and Chuck Woolbright of Cordele, Georgia. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, Lauren Hooks Melbourne of Florida, Brittany Webb of St. Augustine, Florida, Marlee Phillips of Charlotte, North Carolina, Daniel Burke (Lindsey) of Elko, Georgia, Blake Spivey of Ellaville, Georgia, and Cheyenne Hardison of Ellaville, Georgia; two great-great-grandchildren, Hunter Burke of Elko, Georgia, and Maddison Spivey; and a number of nieces and nephews.
