PLAINS — Marie Phillips Griffin, 95, of Plains, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at Sumter Retirement Village. A native of Marion County, she was born April 5, 1922, to the late W.S. and Essie Mae Phillips. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Her life was centered around God, her husband, family, and friends. She was a wonderful example of a Godly person, a great homemaker and was always helping others. She never complained about anything or had any unkind things to say about anyone. She is now reaping what she sowed and receiving her heavenly rewards.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb, 24, 2018, at Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Jim and Trudy Griffin, 848 Tallent Store Road, Americus GA 31709.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Jon Roby of Alpharetta; and two sons and daughters-in-law: Jim and Trudy Griffin of Americus and Charles and Margaret Griffin of Auburn, Ala. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Jayson Griffin, Jance Griffin, Sarah Griffin Earnest, Mark Griffin, Charlie Griffin, Ashley Wright, and Lindsey Stover; and 18 great-grandchildren.
