AMERICUS
Antioch Missionary Baptist Church
The annual Candlelight is observed at 2 p.m. March 11 with guest speaker, Overseer Benny F. Clark, pastor of Breath of Life Ministries, Americus. The public is invited.

Friendship Missionary Baptist Church
“The Gift in the Man” is celebrated as they observe the life, service and achievements of their pastor, Bishop Melvin McCluster, over the past 29 years. The pre-celebration services culminate on Feb. 25. At 10 a.m. Feb. 25, Bishop Henry Moore Jr. and Piney Grove Baptist Church of Dawson are guests; colors for this day are: black, white and red. At 2:30 p.m. Feb. 25, the Anniversary Celebration culminates with the Rev. Hosie Waters and Lebanon Baptist Church, Magnolia Baptist Church and Green Grove Baptist Church families in charges; dinner follows in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited.

A Black History program starts at 9 a.m. Feb. 25. Featured speakers are Chief Police Michael Persley and Chief Community Supervision Officer Kimberly Persley, both of Albany. Everyone is invited.
