Ellaville United Methodist Church hosts a special Gospel Sing at 7 p.m. March 3 featuring The Antioch Southern Gospel Group, consisting of Mike McGlaun of Webster County, Patrick Cobb of Ellaville, Joey Recker of Plains and David Barrette of Richland.

Community saddened at death of Jimmy Harvey
Our community was saddened to have heard of the death of Jimmy Harvey. He was married to Cissy DeVane Harvey, and they had two sons, Jim and Rusty Harvey.
He will be missed. Please keep his family in your prayers.

Schley County Health Department announces new programs
The Schley County Health Department is participating in Georgia’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Program, a statewide program that provides breast and cervical cancer screening and follow-up to low-income, uninsured or under insured Georgia women ages 40 to 64. Some younger women with symptoms of breast cancer may also qualify. Cervical cancer screening is available to women 21 to 64 years of age.
Services provided by these programs include clinical breast examination, mammogram, pelvic examination, Pap test, HPV test, diagnostic testing of abnormal results, and referrals to treatment through the Women’s Health Medicaid Program.
To qualify a woman must be a Georgia resident, meet income requirements, not have Medicaid or Medicare or any insurance that provides for mammograms, and must be between the ages of 40 to 64.

Schley High One Act Play Team awarded State Championship rings
The Schley County High School One Act Play won the State Championship, under the direction of teacher/director Patti Wurtz.
This special team was awarded State Championship rings at a ceremony held recently in the high school gym.
