AMERICUS — Harvest of Hope Food Pantry has received $2,800 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation just in time to help feed local residents. Harvest of Hope Food Pantry will use this gift to shop for items at Food Lion that will give more variety to food items that are distributed to the clients.
“We greatly appreciate the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation gift,” said Sonny Pinckard, executive director of Harvest of Hope Food Pantry. “We are also thankful for the great support that we get from the local Americus Food Lion store. Our mission statement is: ‘Responding  to the call of Jesus Christ,  we feed the hungry, promote physical and spiritual health, and bring people together in a community of love.’ We feel that community of love among the Food Lion store staff, the customers that shop at this store, our clients, and our volunteers. This gift will help us to fulfill the mission of feeding the hungry and promoting physical health.”
Established in 2001, the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding the hungry in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $10 million in grants.
