TIFTON — Alene Crews Griffin, 88, of Tifton passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018, at Cypress Pond Assisted Living Center.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 11 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Mr. Andy Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, March 10 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jason Griffin, Jamie Allison, Andy Griffin, Clay Connell, Tyler Brenner and Rhett Brenner.

Mrs. Griffin was born May 21, 1929, in Folkston, Georgia, to the late Charles Crews and Della Johns Crews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry A. Griffin who died on Nov. 28, 1997; her son, Alan Griffin; great-grandson, Crews Jason Allison; three sisters and one brother. Mrs. Griffin was a member of New River Baptist Church. She graduated from Charlton County High School and retired from Tift County Board of Education as a school bus driver. She enjoyed sewing, working in her yards, driving the school bus and exercising at Leroy Rogers Center. Mrs. Griffin loved being a housewife and cooking for her family.

Mrs. Griffin is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Sandra Griffin of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ric Brenner of Andersonville; one daughter-in-law, Peggy Griffin of Tifton; grandchildren, Jason and Lisa Griffin, Samantha and Jamie Allison, Andy and Deanna Griffin, Jamie and Clay Connell all of Tifton, Rhett and Jenny Brenner and Tyler Brenner all of Statesboro; great-grandchildren, Laney Griffin, Austin Allison, Lucas Allison, Abbey Griffin, Emma Griffin, Tripp Griffin, Caly Connell, Brady Connell and Cooper Brenner; one brother, Charles Crews of Waycross and several nieces and nephews.
