MACON — Margaret Annette Kitchens Smith joined her Lord and Savior in heaven on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Bolingreen Health and Rehabilitation in Macon. A native of Americus, she was born Oct. 8, 1941, to the late John Henry Kitchens and Katherine Johnson Kitchens. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, and worked as a switchboard operator for Southern Bell Telephone Co. for 15 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 16, 2018, at Concord United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Page officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church social hall.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Malcolm M. “Mack” Smith; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Lee Stockslager of Macon; and two sons and daughters-in-law: Steve and Kerry Smith of Americus and Mike and Beth Smith of Plains. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Kaitlyn Stockslager, Dana Stockslager, Ashley Smith, Greg Smith, Ethan Smith, and Cauldin Smith; and a sister, Mary Sue Kitchens.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Thomas Kitchens.
