On March 5, the Ellaville United Methodist for a Church women combined two groups for a special meeting, the United Methodist Women and the Wesleyan Circle.

After the business session, Jacquelyn Dillard had the program — “Five Finger Prayer.”
Refreshments were served by the hostess, Nancy McMath Young. Those in attendance, in addition to those previously mentioned, were Mary Ellen McCorkle, Judy Gattis, Darlene Lewis, Sharon Wall and Barbara Usry.

Ellaville celebrates 26 years as a Tree City
This is the 26th year that City of Ellaville have been recognized on Arbor Day as a Tree City.
Georgia Forestry Commission Chief Ranger Brent McCarty, a local resident, was on hand to help celebrate Arbor Day with City of Ellaville.
He demonstrated the care and maintenance of the trees that have been planted. The cedar tree in front of City Hall was planted in 2014, and has grown well, according to McCarty.
This year he demonstrated the proper pruning and shaping of the trees to the City Street Department.
Those present were Ellaville Manager Lynne McChargue, Joshua Stewart, Sam Warren, Zeb Soloman and Reilly Pearce.

Yard of Month for March designated by garden club
The Rainbow Garden Club of Ellaville has chosen the “Yard of the Month” for March. Congratulations to Bobby and Helen Miller for having such a lovely yard. Their yard has been sparkling with a glow and is so appealing to everyone.
The Yard of the Month sign has been placed in the Millers’ front yard.
