The Americus Civitan Club presented a check recently to First Baptist Church in support of the Night to Shine Americus. The Night to Shine is an annual event that First Baptist hosts for young adults with developmental disabilities. Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow originated the program, through The Tim Tebow Foundation. The check is being presented to Pastor Keith Parks, Cathy McCarty, church secretary and Connie Dozier, financial secretary, by Gerald Smith, at right, president of the Americus Civitan Club. Americus Civitan Club is part of Civitan International which is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. The Civitan Club supports community projects and research for people who are affected by developmental disabilities.
