AMERICUS — The Sumter County Chamber of Commerce has named Classy 5 Boutique as itsApril Business of the Month. Owner Mandy Albritton said, “We have a great connection with Americus — our daughter graduated from Georgia Southwestern.” She founded a store in Douglas, and the one in Americus is her second. The stores specialize in casual women’s clothing with a bit of Southern edge to it.
When you describe a “family business,” Classy 5 would provide a good definition.
“Susan Albritton, my mother-in-law is the manager in Americus. My daughter is manager of our store in Douglas, and my son has a wood crafting business from which we get our corn hole sets and other custom wood products.”
Amber DeBaise added, “Our committee wants to make sure we are celebrating businesses that are a credit to our community like Classy 5 Boutiques. I encourage any Chamber member to nominate a business to receive the reward. Eventually, we will have voting online for all chamber members.”
“Having a vibrant downtown means a better experience for our students at GSW [Georgia Southwestern State University],” said Jill Hohnecker, director of Community Relations. “The day we are giving this award begins a weekend that includes First Friday and the Hot Glass/Craft Beer festival. First Friday has been a big success, and Classy 5 participates with all day sales.”
