AMERICUS — Dorothy Mae Davis Tanner, 90, of Americus, died Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center. A native of Plains, she was born April 26, 1927, to the late Joseph Wheeler Davis and Julia Brock Davis. She was a member of First Baptist Church and worked at Manhattan Shirt Co. for many years.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus. The Rev. William Hall will officiate. The family will receive friends at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Rainey Hodge of Americus; three sons and daughters-in-law: Wade and Theresa Tanner, Kenneth and Suzy Tanner, Ernie and Lisa Tanner, all of Americus; two sisters: Harriett Rushing of Hickory, N.C., and Ruth Roberts of Waycross; and two brothers: Eugene Davis of Americus, and Stout Davis of Albany. Also surviving are six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary McClung; three brothers: Wilburn Davis, Harry Davis, and Clarence Davis; and two grandsons: Hank Thompson and Adam Hodge.
