The 2018 Red, and White and Blues Festival, hosted last Saturday by Americus Main Street at the new South Jackson Street train depot, was all it was expected to be. Delicious fixins’ by Highway 19 South Barbecue, distilled spirits from Thirteen Colony Distillery in Americus, and craft beers from Pretoria Fields in Albany were enough for everyone, plus a misting tent to keep cool. And the music was smokin’! Hot Sauce Opera and Cedric Burnside rocked the crowds with the blues. There were people from all over in attendance, including Klaas and Leanna Van Gosliga from Camilla, shown above. They said they heard about the festival on social media and wanted to check out Americus.
