AMERICUS — Nancy Josephine McLean Thompson passed away on June 6, 2018, at the age of 75.

She was known as Mom, Joey, Jo, and Honey by her friends and family. She was born on April 13, 1943, in Jasper, Alabama, the daughter of the late Fannie Bell Woods McLean and Henry Newton McLean II. She graduated from Americus High School and she worked at Sheffield Hardware, Sumter County School System, and Dill’s Florist. Mrs. Thompson lived in Americus since 1948, and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Hank Thompson; grandson Morgan Frost; and her stepparents, Helen and Madison Dill. Survivors include one son, Timothy Morgan Frost (Diane) of Cumming; and a daughter, Angela Blair Thompson Cagle (Larry) of Preston; and five grandchildren: Brittany Simkins, Chase French, Jeremy Frost, Corey Frost, and Emily Frost. Her sisters and brothers are Hank McLean, Henry Dill, Mary Hernandez, Kitty Miller, Carol Short, Jerry Dill, and Angie Moye.

A memorial and prayer service took place on Friday, June 8 at Oak Grove Cemetery for close family and friends.

Mrs. Thompson’s favorite charities were St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Wounded Warriors.
