AMERICUS — Ms. Sarah Vestal Edgemon, age 71, passed away Friday, June 15, 2018, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2018, at Calvary Episcopal Church in Americus. Father Richard Nelson will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 20 in the Edgemon Family Cemetery in Ten Mile, Tennessee. A visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, June 17 at Aldridge Funeral Services.

Ms. Sarah Vestal Edgemon was born Feb. 6, 1947, in Knoxville, Tenn., daughter of the late James Edward Vestal and the late Sarah Elizabeth Greer Vestal. Ms. Edgemon was a former president and current board member for 20 years for the Sumter Historic Trust. She was a past member of the Junior Service League in Americus. Ms. Edgemon was a momemaker and member of Calvary Episcopal Church.

Survivors include her sons John Vestal Edgemon and James Edward Edgemon, both of Americus, Ga.; and a brother John Vestal of Tennessee. In addition to her parents, Ms. Edgemon was preceded in death by a brother James Holland Vestal.
