CORDELE — Mrs. Gloria Dean Jordan Brown, age 89, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele.

Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St.  The Rev. Hugh Harbort will officiate, with interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The following gentlemen are asked to serve as active pallbearers: M.W. Jordan, Brian Clark, David Burgamy, and Nelson McCrary, and Charles Scott as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends between the hours of 1 and 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Hancock Funeral Home.

Born Jan. 4, 1929, in Schley County, she was a daughter of the late Hubert Jordan and the late Lura Pilcher Jordan.

Mrs. Brown was retired from the laundry at Manhattan Shirt Co. She was of the Christian faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Brown; by a sister, Betty Sue Conn; a sister-in-law, Maxine Jordan; and by brothers-in-law, Charles Sutton and Bunky Stewart.

Survivors include two sons: John N. Brown (Ann) and Chuck Brown (good friend Pat Parker); two brothers: Robert Jordan and Gene Jordan (Gwen); two sisters: Faye McCrary (Nelson) and Gladys Stewart; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
