Imogene “Jean” Glass Crook, as Solomon wrote “a woman who fears the Lord,” went home to be with the Lord on June 21, 2018. She was a faithful Christ-follower and devoted family woman. She loved to read, spend quality time with family, watch westerns, and enjoyed interacting with children. A native of Alabama, she resided in Sumter County for the past 42 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Leslie where she was an active member until her health began to decline.

A graveside service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Americus with Brother William Hall officiating. The family will receive friends following the service, and at other times at the home of John and Paula Crook, 219 Smokey Lane in Americus.

She is survived by her sons and their wives, Jerry and Norma Crook of Augusta, Ga., Steve and Barbara Crook of Orlando, Fla., Bruce and Linda Crook of Valdosta, Ga., John and Paula Crook of Americus, Ga., and Jeff and Peggy Crook of Leesburg, Ga. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren, all of whom were greatly loved. She is also survived by one sister, Ila Partain, many nieces and nephews, and her dear friend Shirley Pittman.

Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, H. Paul Crook, two infant sons, and by her parents as well as many brothers and sisters.

For those wishing to do so, memorial contributions can be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 235 Calvary Church Road, Leslie GA 31764 or Phoebe Sumter Hospice, 126 E. Furlow St., Americus GA 31709.
