AMERICUS — On May 31, the Georgia Health Care Association (GHCA) announced Magnolia Manor’s Mattie H. Marshall Memory Care Center in Americus and Magnolia Manor of Columbus West as recipients for the 2018 Bronze Commitment to Quality Award. They are two out of 25 long term and post-acute care providers across Georgia to receive this award presented by the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). The AHCA/NCAL established The National Quality Award Program in 1996, to honor long term and post-acute care providers throughout the country that have displayed a commitment to improving quality of care.
“We are honored to receive the Bronze Quality Award for 2018,” stated Administrator Daron Butler. “Here at Magnolia Manor of Columbus West, we are dedicated to improving quality of care by incorporating our core values into our daily operations.” Mattie H. Marshall Center Administrator, Jenice Baker stated, “We are consistently striving for improvement in every way possible. Receiving the Bronze Quality Award is an accomplishment that we are proud of. Now we are diligently working towards the next level in the improvement process.”
The National Quality Award Program consists of three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. To receive the Bronze level award, providers must develop an organizational profile that employs fundamental aspects of quality performance. They must also demonstrate their ability to implement a performance improvement system. According to the trained examiners that review each Bronze application, Magnolia Manor of Columbus West and the Mattie H. Marshall Center of Americus have met the expectations for the qualifying criteria. The awards will be presented during AHCA/NCAL’s 69th Annual Convention and Exposition in San Diego, California, Oct. 7-10.
