CELEBRATION, Fla. — Thomas Edward Gardner, 81, of Celebration Fla., formerly of Moultrie, Ga., died Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at his home.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Cobb Funeral Chapel in Moultrie with the Rev. Wayne Woods officiating.  Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memory Gardens in Moultrie.

Casketbearers will be Stuart Gardner, Kevin Ford, Adam Strange, Dennis Futch, Buddy Conger, Bubba Southal and Lee Elrod. Honorary casketbearers will be the Adult 5 Sunday School Class member of First Baptist Church of Moultrie.

Born Aug. 1, 1936, in Americus, he was the son of the late Mac Stuart Gardner and Edna Frazier Gardner. Mr. Gardner graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor of science degree in agricultural engineering. He retired from Colquitt EMC as the general manager and served as a director of Moultrie National Bank. Mr. Gardner was a dedicated Christian and formerly associated with First Baptist Church of Moultrie and a member of First Baptist Church of Kissimmee, Fla. His family remembers how he was an avid Georgia fan and an outdoorsman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Ellen Wildes Gardner.

Survivors include his wife, Diana Gardner of Celebration, Fla.; daughter, Denise Gardner Carpenter of Celebration, Fla.; grandchildren, Andrew Thomas Carpenter, Ashley Michelle Carpenter; brother, Hugh Allen Gardner of Putney, Ga..; sister, Mary Lee Canter of Hoschton, Ga.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
