AMERICUS — Sumter County Senior 4-H’ers who won first place in their 4-H projects, Lauren Busman and Ryan Mournighan, are now preparing to take their project to the highest level of competition which is State 4-H Competition held in July in Atlanta. District Project Achievement first-place winners receive an all-expense paid trip to Atlanta to spend four days to compete, meet donors and sponsors of 4-H, participate in special programs, banquets and a special reward trip to Six Flags over Georgia.
Busman and Mournighan are excited about the trip and the chance to become Master 4-H’ers, if they win! When 4-H’ers win at State 4-H Congress they receive a special reward trip to National 4-H Congress held in the fall of 2018.
The two senior 4-H’ers have been spending the past several months preparing for the state competition. Recently both graduated from high school and attended the Southwest District Winner’s Workshop with other first place district 4-H’ers in Bainbridge. Sumter County 4-H is very proud of their outstanding work and accomplishments.
