AMERICUS — The American Legion Post 558, Americus Veterans Day Parade Committee is organizing its 5th annual Veterans Day Parade scheduled for 11 a.m. Nov. 9. With the support of the community, each year has been memorable. On this special day, the military service men and women are honored. The day’s schedule of events begins with a short program, followed by the parade and other events to be announced later.
Invitations are extended to every organization within the community and surrounding areas. Some organizations are provided with small donations upon availability, to offset the cost of their travel.
As this event nears, the Legionnaires and their Auxillians reach out to community churches, because they know that congregations are comprised of active and retired service men and women, serving or have served in some branch of the military.
