AMERICUS – The Canes 360 organization, in support of Georgia Southwestern State University athletics, invited the public to a Hurricane season kickoff on Thursday, August 23, at 6 p.m. inside the Storm Dome on the GSW campus.

The kickoff will serve as a recruiting event for potential Canes 360 members. In addition, those who attend can enjoy a meet and greet with GSW coaches and student-athletes, a visit from the GSW mascot Surge, activities for the kids, giveaways and traditional tailgate fare.

Canes 360 is a group of people dedicated to the rapid turnaround of resources available to the GSW athletics program. A $360 per year contribution for five years, which can be broken down into installments of $30 a month, will be used to enhance capital improvements. Some of the money generated from the Canes 360 program will go towards the construction of the GSW baseball and softball training facility, as well as the construction of a press box, concessions stand, restrooms and picnic area at the GSW baseball field.
