AMERICUS
Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Church
The Brantly/Childers’ Annual Missionary Celebration is at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 19 with guest minister, the Rev. Shirley Strawter, pastor of St. John and St Mark Church, Plains. Everyone is invited.

Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church
The first Lay Day Worship Services is at 3 p.m. Sept. 30 featuring the local lay president of Antioch A.M.E. Church, Alfreda Young Brooks, as speaker. She is first vice president of the Sixth Episcopal District.

Salem United Methodist Church
Revival services are 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Aug. 19, and at 7 p.m. Aug. 20 featuring Doug Roark of the Old Paths Gospel Quartet. For information call 229-942-8432.

Anointed Hearts Outreach Ministries Inc.
The ninth church anniversary and the second pastor’s anniversary celebration culminates at 3 p.m. Aug. 19 at Kingdom Heaven Ministries, 132 Upper River Road with Pastor Allison Harvey from Sanders Gift Baptist Church in charge of services.

Kingdom of Heaven Ministries Inc.
The Sixth Pastor’s Appreciation Celebration is at 7 p.m. Aug. 23 and 24. On Thursday, Pastor Dr. Tameka Rogers-Colbert and Shekinah International Ministries are in charge of services; and on Friday, Evangelist Tanya Reese of Americus Holiness Deliverance Temple is in charge.
The celebration culminates at 4 p.m. Aug. 26 with Apostle Daniel Akins of More Sure Word, Warner Robins in charge of the service. Everyone is welcome.

Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church
The church’s 152nd anniversary is celebrated Aug. 25 and 26th with the theme, Featuring Christ: The Main Attraction. The church sponsors an Outreach Event in the McCoy Hill community from 9:30 a.m.-noon Aug. 25 to bring a message of hope and love through song, dance, teaching, and witnessing the Good News of Jesus Christ. The men of Bethesda provide refreshments. The anniversary celebration culminated Aug. 26, with the morning worship service, when the pastor, the Rev. Keanthony Brooks delivers the message followed with a baptism service and a Family Reunion Fellowship Dinner. Everyone is invited.

Faith of Deliverance Church
Temporarily relocated at Whole Truth International Ministries, 1216 N. Lee St.) the church observes Family & Friends Day “Pack the Pews” at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 26. The public is invited.

Mount Creek A.M.E. Church
The Pastor’s (the Rev. Gerald Harris) Appreciation Celebration is at 3 p.m. Aug. 19. The Rev. Sherryl Harris Sneed (the pastor’s twin sister) of Peter’s Chapel A.M.E., Columbus, brings the word. Dinner will be served. Everyone is welcome.

United Holiness Church
The Grand Fellowship Assembly is celebrated at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 5-7, at 6 p.m. Sept. 8, and 11 a.m. Sept. 9. Everyone is invited.

Welcome Baptist Church
Men and Women Day is celebrated at 11 a.m. Sept. 2 with Vision of Life Baptist Church of Atlanta in charge of the service. The public is invited.

Butterflies Ministry Inc.
Everyone is invited to participate in a free weekly word clinic journey through the Bible from 7-8 p.m. Tuesdays.

ELLAVILLE
Hopewell United Methodist Church
The Rev. Dr. Buddy Cooper, District Superintendent, Northwest District, South Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church, is featured speaker Aug. 19 for the annual homecoming. Worship is 11 a.m. followed by a covered dish lunch.
He is also revival preacher for services at 6 p.m. Aug.19 and 7 p.m. Aug. 20-22. His topic is “What Do You for Sure?” The 6 p.m. service features “Dayspring” and an ice cream social follows. Other music includes Monday, Lankford Ministries; Tuesday, Youth Group; and Wednesday, Sing-a-Long with Judy McClellan, pianist.
Monday, Schley County Methodist Men’s ladies’ night is observed with a covered dish meal at 6 p.m. Tuesday is Youth Night.

PLAINS
Bethlehem Baptist Church
Homecoming service is 10:45 a.m. Aug. 19. Sister Ruby and Johnny Lee Little will be honored as the fifth and sixth eldest members. Pastor O. Quintodd Bryant brings the message.

Lebanon Baptist Church
The pastor’s 35th Year Appreciation Service for the Rev. Hosie Waters is Aug. 27 with Sunday school at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m.
The 2 p.m. service features guest minister Bishop Melvin McCluster of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Americus, along with his church choir. The community is invited.

Preston
Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church
Annual revival services are at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 21-23 with the Rev. Howard K. James of Albany as guest minister.
