Dorothy Jean Carpenter Williamson, 93, of Athens, formerly of Americus, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at her home. A native of Oklahoma, she was born Aug. 19, 1924, to the late Charlie Clayton Carpenter and Blanche Allen Carpenter. She loved cats and gardening.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Americus with the Rev. William Hall officiating.

Survivors include her son, John Paul Williamson Jr. of Athens, and a brother, Clayton Carpenter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Williamson.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 2^nd St. E, Tifton GA 31794.
