1 killed in Webster traffic crash

AMERICUS— One person was killed in a traffic crash in Weston, in Webster County, early Friday and five others were injured.
According to an incomplete accident report provided the Georgia State Patrol Post 1, Americus, which investigated, the accident occurred at 4:43 a.m. Friday on Ga. Highway 520 in Weston.
Dathan B. Bradley, 36, of 312 Lower Five Points Road, Americus, is charged with felony first-degree homicide by vehicle, DUI, and following too closely. He was being held at the Sumter County Jail.
According to an unofficial source, the fatality, a female from Pansey, Ala., was one of several seasonal workers reporting to work at Merritt Pecan Co. when Bradley, driving a 2015 Mercedes Benz, plowed into the rear of a 2006 Dodge Caravan S carrying the employees. Five others in the van sustained injuries. One was airlifted and four were transported by EMS.
