GSP releases fatal crash details

AMERICUS — The Georgia State Patrol Post 10, Americus, released more information on a traffic fatality that occurred Friday, Aug. 31 in Weston.
The accident occurred at 4:43 a.m. on Ga. Highway 520 in Weston.
According to Trooper James Vaughn, who investigated the crash, the woman killed was identified as Aquedo Frometa, 45, of Pansey, Ala. She was one of several seasonal workers who stopped at the gas pumps at Merritt Pecan Co. when Dathan B. Bradley, 36, of 312 Lower Five Points Road, Americus, driving a 2015 Mercedes Benz, plowed into the rear of a 2006 Dodge Caravan S carrying the employees. Five others in the van sustained injuries. One was airlifted and four were transported by EMS.
Both vehicles were westbound, according to Vaughn, heading toward Columbus.
Bradley is charged with felony first-degree homicide by vehicle, DUI, and following too closely. He was being held at the Sumter County Jail.
