AMERICUS
Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church
The first Lay Day Worship Services is at 3 p.m. Sept. 30 featuring the local lay president of Antioch A.M.E. Church, Alfreda Young Brooks, as speaker. She is first vice president of the Sixth Episcopal District.

Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Church
Family and Friends Day is observed at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 23 with the theme, “Family and Friends: Working Together for Christ.” All are welcome.
Everyone is invited in celebrating the Vivian Bryant Angel Choir’s 26th anniversary at 2 p.m. Oct. 15 with worship, song, and dance. All special guests are invited to render an A and B selection.

Friendship Missionary Baptist Church
The 123rd church anniversary celebration continues when the pastor, Bishop Melvin McCluster, brings the message. Colors are blue and gold. Dinner follows in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited.
Salem United Methodist Church
The church celebrates 182 years of praise and worship at the same location, 942 Upper River Road, on Oct. 7. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. followed by the worship service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mark Kinservick, current pastor of County Line Methodist Church, brings the message. He is a former member of Salem.
Lunch will be served in the fellowship hall immediately after the service. Everyone is invited.

New Jerusalem Baptist Church
Family and Friends Night is celebrated at 7 p.m. Oct. 4 with the Rev. Larry Sims, pastor of Union Tabernacle Baptist Church, Americus, delivering the message.

Piney Grove No. 3 Baptist Church
A Men/Women Celebration, “Christian Men/Women Going with Jesus All the Way,” is at 11 a.m. Oct. 14 guest speaker, the Rev. Ferlin Tyson and Minister Belinda Cutts Tyson of Mount Able Baptist Church. Everyone is invited.

Kingdom of Heaven Ministries
Taste of the Kingdom is from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 29 featuring free food, free money, give-aways, jumping castles and more. To contribute items, contact founding pastor Courtney Moore on Facebook or Quanta Sims 229-331-4354.

New St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church
The 46th choir anniversary is observed at 4 p.m. Sept. 23. Area choirs are asked to participate.
The annual Men and Women’s Day program is at 11 a.m. Oct. 7 with church pastor, Michael Walker, bringing the message. Colors are black and white, and everyone is invited.

ANDERSONVILLE
Union Oak Grove Baptist Church
The church family picnic is from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 22 with free food, games, and fun for all.
Annual Guest Day is observed at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 23. Theme is “Family, Faith, and Friends, for These We Give Thanks.” The public is invited.

ELLAVILLE
The Church International
The 14th anniversary of the pastor, Jessie Carson, is observed at 7 p.m. Oct. 4 and 5, and at 10 a.m. Oct. 10.

LESLIE
Perry Grove Baptist Church
The Women’s Ministry hosts the first Women Conference Sept. 29 and 30. At 10 a.m. Saturday is the Hats Off to Jesus workshop with Pastor Sheila Williams of The House of Praise Holiness Church, Richland and Evangelist Yolanda Brown Franklin of Whitehill Baptist Church, Reynolds. Women are asked to wear a hat of their choice, and lunch will be served. At 2:30 p.m. Sunday, the conference culminates with a speaker to be announced later. All are welcome.

SMITHVILLE
New Hope A.M.E. Church
The 164th church anniversary is celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 7. The Rev. Jermaine Harris and Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church are in charge of the service. Dinner will be served.

Mount Zion Webster
Missionary Baptist Church
Friends and Family Day is celebrated Sept. 23 during the 11 a.m. worship service. Sunday school begins at 10 a.m.
