Local native, Kourtney Latimore Shelley, was surrounded by her friends, former school teachers and administrators, church members and supporters during her book signing for her new children’s book, Doug Has a Duck. A continuous flow of local citizens stopped by to purchase their autographed copy of the book which is targeted for children ages 0-6 years. Doug Has a Duck is a story about a boy and his feathery friend and features large print letters and bold, beautiful illustrations. According to Anne Isbell, director of the Lake Blackshear Regional Library System, Saturday, Sept. 29, marked the first time in over 24 years that the library has hosted a book signing for a children’s book.
