John Jeffery Deriso, 55, of Americus, Ga., died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services. The Rev. Allen Brock and the Rev. William Hall will officiate. Interment with full military honors will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. John Jeffery Deriso was born Aug. 27, 1963, in Americus, son of Eugene Talmadge Deriso and Agnes Wills Wood. Mr. Deriso was a retired Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Deriso is also survived by his companion, Angie Richards; two sons and daughter-in-law Kevin Charles Deriso of Ramona, Calif., and Jonathon Richard Deriso (Lindsey) of Cumming, Ga.; three sisters Kelly Weaver of Ideal, Ga., Kay Deriso Smith of Americus, and Tracy Plunkett of Americus. Five grandchildren Rhett Deriso, Aaron Deriso, Nolan Deriso, Berkeley Deriso, Mason Taylor and Presleigh Taylor also survive.

Mr. Deriso was preceded in death by a brother Dennis Charles Deriso.
