AMERICUS — The Americus Civitan Club presents a check to Perry Wellness Center to purchase a pea sheller. The check is presented by Gerald Smith, president of the Americus Civitan Club. The sheller will add to their capacity to produce vegetables that the Center sells to help pay expenses of the work with peers with developmental disabilities.
Americus Civitan Club is part of Civitan International which is dedicate to serving children and adults with developmental disabilities, such as autism, brain tumors, and other disorders of the brain. Americus Civitan is a leading supporter of the Civitan International Research Center located at the University of Alabama, Birmingham.
