AMERICUS — The Americus Police were called to a residence in the 1600 block of North Jackson Street shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday.
A male resident told police that he had removed his work boots around 2 p.m. Saturday and left them on the front porch of his residence. Around 7:30 a.m. Sunday, he attempted to put on his right boot and was unable to because of “multiple, small items inside it,” according to the police report.
When the man turned the boot upside down to empty it, five, .40-caliber hollow point bullets fell out. That’s when the man notified police, who he told he has no problems with anyone in the area and no one in the residence owns a weapon.
The bullets were taken by police as evidence, and will be destroyed, the report stated.
