Lady Wildcats win hard-fought region opener

ELLAVILLE – After trouncing Pataula Charter 84-11 on Friday, November 30, the Schley County Lady Wildcats (3-0, 1-0) faced a much tougher test in their Region 4-1A opener against Crawford County on Saturday, December 1, at Schley County High School. However, the Lady Wildcats earned a hard-fought 51-42 victory over the Lady Eagles.

Carmen Phillips led the Lady Wildcats in scoring with 18 points and Dasani Miller had a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Amiyah Walker also scored in double figures. She scored 10 points and had four steals.

On Tuesday, December 4, the Lady Wildcats will attempt to accomplish something they’ve never done before: defeat region opponent Taylor County. There may be no better time than this year to do just that. The Lady Vikings are winless on the season at 0-3. They lost their first region game to Hawkinsville by the score of 54-18 on Saturday, December 1. The Lady Wildcats will host Taylor County on Tuesday, December 4. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
