The Discovery documentary series, made by Arrow Media, called “Body Cam,” will air at 10 p.m. Dec. 11 on the Investigation Discovery network. An episode in the series features the case of the shooting deaths of Georgia Southwestern State University Police Officer Jody Smith and Americus Police Officer Nick Smarr on Dec. 6, 2016.
According to information from Arrow Media, the documentary provides an insight into what happens on the frontline of policing and includes police interviews, bodycam footage, archive footage, 911 audio recordings, and radio dispatch. It is their hope that the episode is a sensitive representation of the events, based on the accounts of all those that have been interviewed.
