AMERICUS — James Edward “Eddie” Booth Jr., 64, of Americus died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at his home. A native of Americus, he was born April 9, 1954, to the late James Edward Booth and Betty Jones Booth. He worked as a lineman for Georgia Power for 17 years before retiring due to his health. In the later years of his life, he was a truck driver and escort driver. He loved horses and cars; and loved life and making people laugh.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus with Shane Busby officiating.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, LeighAnne and Nick Busby of Dawson; a son, James Roger “J.R.” Booth of Dawson; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Beverly Milner Booth.
