Vehicle drives into volunteer fire station

At 9:15 p.m. Dec. 29, Sumter County Fire & Rescue responded to a report of a vehicle which had collided into one of its ire stations located on Lamar Road. Upon arrival personnel found a vehicle in the station with no one around the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle had left the scene. The building sustained major damage but no damage to the fire engine inside and no injuries reported. The incident is being investigated by Georgia State Patrol Post 10, Americus.
