Schley elected officials sworn into office
On Dec. 27, 2018, four Schley County elected officials were sworn into office, before assuming their positions on two different Schley County boards starting on Jan.1.
The new Schley County Board of Education members sworn in were Stephanie Holloway and Kelley Morrow.
The Schley County Board of Commissioners members sworn in were Mike Hammack and Dennis Jones.
All four elected officials were sworn into office by Schley County Probate Judge Mitzi Way.

Pilchers bring in new year with family luncheon
This is the way to bring in the New Year — having a 2019 luncheon with family.
Sammy and Mary Nan Pilcher did just that. Mary Nan’s such a good cook, but knowing the other women, I’m sure
they brought a covered dish.
Those that attended were Tommy Pilcher, and Alan and Sharon Miller of Ellaville, Dave and Carla Murray of Tazwell, Angie McMickle and Joe McMickle of Ellaville, and Connie McMickle of Lawrence, and Betty Barwick of Buena Vista.

Pilchers entertain Christmas Eve guests
Christmas Eve was a special time for Sammy and Mary Nan Pilcher when their children and grandchildren were their guests.
Family that attended were Mike and Cynthia Sanseverino and their daughters Kayla and Sarah Sanseverino from Parkland, Florida, Ben and Lynn Taylor and girls from Tazwell, Tommy Pilcher, Alan and Sharon Miller, Andy Miller, all of Ellaville, Alex and Karter Lindsey of Americus, Dave and Carla Murray and their family, Clifford, Trina and Anna Rae Murray, all of Buena Vista.

Ellaville Methodist Church choir sings at Perfect Care
The Ellaville United Methodist Church Choir visited Perfect Care in Americus Jan. 3 for their monthly singing for the residents.
Those attending were Wayne and Nora Morrow, Alan Schultz, Sharon Wall, Olivia Mallichek, Darlene Lewis, Judy McClellan, Maci Lawhorn, Kylie Lawhorn, Danice Morris and Choir Director Mary Nan Pilcher.
Wayne Morrow played several songs on his harmonica and Alan Schultz and Maci Lawhorn sang specials.
