AMERICUS — The following area residents were among approximately 426 students who graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University during the Fall 2018 Commencement Ceremony held on Dec. 12 in Convocation Hall of the Student Success Center.

The commencement speaker was GSW alumnus and Americus native Brigadier Gen. Thomas Carden Jr., the Deputy Commanding General of the Multinational Divion South East, stationed in Bucharest, Romania.
