AMERICUS — Southland Academy Headmaster Ty Kinslow announces that George Wall is the STAR student for the 2018-2019 school year.
The STAR student award is a top academic achievement given annually to a senior class member who has the highest SAT score in one sitting and is in the top 10 or top 10 percent of the school’s graduating class.
The PAGE Foundation Program of Excellence coordinates the program.
Each STAR student has the privilege of naming a STAR teacher.
This year Wall has selected Nikki Hoffman as his STAR Teacher.
Hoffman teaches geometry, honors geometry, algebra II, and honors algebra II.
She has 16 years teaching experience and has been a teacher at Southland Academy for four years.
Wall is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Wall of Americus and the grandson of Mrs. Rowe Wall of Kathleen, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Baldwin of Americus.
