AMERICUS — The Americus-Sumter County Hospital Authority voted unanimously at a called meeting earlier week to approve a contract on 9.12 acres on East Forsyth Street.
Ronnie Greer, broker with Century 21/Americus Realty, told the authority at the meeting that the potential buyer, an Atlanta-based LLC, has offered $600,000 on the property with a 180-day option. The buyer wants to develop the parcel with a restaurant and retail space.
The property is the former site of the temporary hospital which was located there after the March 2027 tornado destroyed Sumter Regional Hospital, and prior to construction of Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.
