Local ministry hosts summer camp

AMERICUS — Life Transformation Ministry Inc. hosts “REACH” (Raising Expectations and Changing History” 2019 Summer Camp at Union Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Life Transformation Ministry Inc. is a nonprofit (501c) (3) organization providing outreach services for youth and teens throughout the Americus-Sumter County area. It serves approximately 50 youth ages 10-15 and their families through a Seven-Week Summer Camp and other outreach programs, including Boys and Girl’s Mentoring Program, and Abstinence and Teen Parenting Support. The Summer Camp provides a safe haven for 20 at risk, vulnerable boys and girls ages 10 to 15, to receive basic life skills to enhance and improve academic performance, encouragement and training to modify risky behaviors, to improve social and personal knowledge that enables them to prepare for and meet the challenges of the future.
The 2019 Camp Program begins on Monday, June 3. Open enrollment for Camp begins March 18. The full day camp experience is offered from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday with breakfast, lunch and snacks provided daily. Curriculum includes enhancement in math, science, language arts, basic computer skills, behavior modification and extracurricular activities including weekly field trips, sports/outdoor games, movies, and more. Tour venues include, but are not limited to, Atlanta, LaGrange, Columbus, Warner Robins, Fort Benning, Albany, and Valdosta, and are tied to our curriculum.
Every day, children become more susceptible to violence, delinquency, abuse, and emotional volatility during the summer, other away from school times or wherever the absence of adult supervision exists. This Summer Camp brings peace of mind to parents and guardians during these critical times and a safety net for our children and community. Staff consists of certified teachers and para-professionals to provide leadership, guidance, and challenging enrichment activities!
Sponsorships are needed. A tax-deductible contribution of $525 sponsors one child for the seven-week program ($300 for tuition) and ($225 for field trips, venue and transportation). For more information call 229-924-0421.
