AMERICUS, Ga. —  After a long battle with breast cancer, Mrs. Donna Everett Smith, age 63, of 114-A Country Club Drive, Americus, Ga., died Thursday morning, April 11, 2019, at home, surrounded by family and friends.

Donna was born Feb. 20, 1956, in Americus, Ga., and was the daughter of Mary Helen and Edward C. “Eck” Everett. Donna was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a loving mother and dedicated friend to many. She also worked at Chambliss, Sheppard, Roland & Associates for 15 years. She was a member of Plains Baptist Church, and her favorite pastimes included spending time on the beach and decorating.

Survivors include two daughters; Jenn Smith of Americus and Julie Smith of Plains, along with two sisters and a brother-in-law, Carol and Randy Gosa of Smithville, and Elaine Arnett of Leesburg, as well as a number of nieces and nephews, and her companion in life, David Smith of Morris, Ga.

The family will receive visitors from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. A private funeral will be held at a later date.

Honorary pallbearers include Candy Barfield, Polly Conger, Arlene Johnson, Betty Ann Slunt, and Kathy Smith.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Plains Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 198, Plains GA 31780.
