AMERICUS — Rory Cordon Edge, a native of Plains, who now lives with his family in Locust Grove, has recently seen another dream become reality. After many months of work, Edge announced the publication of his first book — “I Should Have Waited: Navigating the Difficulties of Teenage Parenthood.”
Edge says his book draws on his own experiences of himself and his wife Eden Edge trying to bring up three children in an ever-changing world. The couple has three children: Isaiah, 14; Ian, 11; and Amirah, 10.
Edge earned his bachelor of arts degree in fine arts from Savannah State University and his master of arts degree in marriage and family therapy from North Central University. He was ordained as a minister seven years ago, and has worked as a behavioral health counselor for the last three years. In addition, Edge is a “classically trained musician.”
In addition to using his own life’s experiences, Edge spent eight weeks attending the Author’s Bootcamp, an effort of his friend and mentor Jasmine Womack, where he immersed himself in how to write his book. After having planned to write a book for more than a decade, Edge stepped out in faith and produced his manuscript. He did all his pre-launch work and has sold more than 40 books ahead of the book’s official launch date.
Each day he routinely updates his social media pages with excerpts and book sales data.
Already securing speaking engagements, Edge has several speaking engagements on his book on his calendar.

Edge, founder of Rory Cordon Edge & Associates, LLC, will be featured at the inaugural Professional Women’s Empowerment Summit 2019 at 6 p.m. May 4 at XXXXXX.
This conference is the brainchild Edge and will bring together six professional women for a panel discussion on the direction and impact of women in the professional arena. Panelists include Raven Payne, Ed.D, lead instructor at South Georgia Technical College; Jessica Wright, RN, and Eshonda Blue, RN, COO and CEO of Innovative Senior Solutions; Venus Hollis, RN, Phoebe Sumter Medical Center; Shanekia Williams, Ed.S, principal of Live Oak Elementary School in Albany; Charkela Janae Gaston-Molden, Ed.S, LPC, NCC, Private Practice and School-Based Therapist of Middle Georgia State University.
The theme of the conference is “Empowering all Women to become leaders and to develop their professional destinies.”
